20th Anniversary - Lakes Bluegrass Festival: Backus, Minnesota; 08/20/2026; The Lakes Bluegrass Festival; Will open and close the 20th Anniversary Lakes Bluegrass Festival - near Pine River. The family band, Sarah Mae & the Birkeland Boys, will kick things off Thursday at noon.

Music & Message: Backus, Minnesota; 08/23/2026; The Lakes Bluegrass Festival; Closing the 20th Anniversary Lakes Bluegrass Festival with a Sunday morning "sing" followed by stories, original songs and the timeless wisdom of scripture.

God has given people a voice. Some use their voices to build relationships, some to bless others, then there is Mike who uses his voice to sing praises to God. He has been given the gift to not only sing but to write music. I’m excited to hear his heart to teach and guide others to do the same.
